Stereomusik Systems have done it again - third time in one week. This time they've blown the lid right off the typical iOS approach to midi support...which is pester the developers until your controller of choice is supported. They have implemented midi mapping and midi learn into the DJ Player app, allowing you to connect your iPad to any controller of choice, regardless of price or make.
The article plus discussion is over at DigitalDJTips, but in case you can't wait that long...the video is here;
This is incredibly exciting stuff, like watching history being made!
The Modern DJ
CDJ integration comes to DJ Player...
Following on from the previous video (which showed DJ Player working as a DVS with a turntable), this second video has appeared;
Showing DJ Player working seamlessly with a number of different CDJ units (850, 900 and 2000) - via Midi.
So;
- DVS plus turntable
- Midi plusCDJ
...what next? There will be at least 3 videos in the series! Exciting times.

Review & Video: Numark Mixdeck Quad
I've been waiting for this product for ages it seems, and finally I got my hands on it and great fun it is too. The full review is on DigitalDJTips and the first to feature a video from me...so camera shy normally!
I could play for hours on the unit and not get bored or uninspired, mainly because of the multitude of input options available...if you're lucky enough to own a pair of Output Boosters by Stereomusik Systems then try plugging an iOS device into Aux 1 or 2 (using the phono connection) and run DJ Player through it...adding another one or two tracks to the mix instantly!
Anyway, here's the video...

Video: DVS Comes To iPad
There's a brief article over at DigitalDJTips for discussion, but this is looking like exciting stuff! I don't own a laptop for DJing, so the prospect of using DVS has always eluded me. iOS DJing has introduced me into digital DJing but I was always left feeling that it would be great to use my trusted decks with the iPad providing the tracks.
DJ Player is stepping up the game again for DJ apps on iOS...and this is only the first video for the Autumn update!
Review: ION iDJ2Go USB Controller For iOS
I had the pleasure of spending some time with the new iDJ2Go controller from ION, developed solely for use with iOS devices. It is nearly identical to Numark's DJ2Go controller, except for the fitted cable - in the iDJ2Go it ends with a 30pin connector...so no use for controlling anything but iOS devices.
The review is up on DigitalDJTips as always, Simon from Numark has already confirmed that the unit will be compatible with more apps in the future...fingers crossed for vjay compatibility too!

Review: Free DJ Studio App For iPad
Loopmasters have released (in conjunction with app developers Rocudo) a loop-based remix type app called DJ Studio for iPad. There's a full review over on DigitalDJTips, in summary though...the app is free with in-app purchases unlocking either content or features - if you're buying one, the chances are you would buy the other. The success of this app (as with any loop-purchase based app) is dependent on the variety and quality of loops and samples. The quality of the loops isn't in question here, and we know Loopmasters have a huge royalty-free library...so there's hope the available loops will extend further than Progressive House!
Review & Video: Deckadance Mobile For iPad
You may have missed the quietly-softly release of Deckadance Mobile for iPad in the app store, it seems Image-Line are taking a soft-release approach (whatever that means). There's a full review of the app as it currently stands here. I have no doubt that it will get updated to coincide with the full release!
